Braidwood's Almost Forgotten Bridle and Pack Tracks

Braidwood's Almost Forgotten Bridle and Pack Tracks

Peter Smith our valued historian and author of popular book "The Deua River Track" will be giving an illuminating account of the history of the many bridle and pack tracks which served Braidwood and its goldfields at the Braidwood and District Historical Society's 2019 Annual Dinner.

But it’s not just about tracks; it’s about people, explorers, adventurers, bushrangers, police, pioneers and settlers who depended on these tracks not only for commerce, but also for their survival.

Peter’s presentation includes snippets of recorded interviews with now deceased pioneers, photographs, maps and a modern day video of a recent ride.

Peter is also the President of the Braidwood and District Historical Society - see link
